If you’re reading this because you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or weighed down by depression, I want you to take a deep breath with me for a moment.
Because I understand. Truly.
I’ve walked through seasons where getting out of bed felt like climbing a mountain with no strength left. Days where my mind felt loud and heavy at the same time. Moments when I questioned my purpose, my value, even my ability to keep going. Anxiety and depression are not just “bad days” — they are battles fought in the unseen places of the heart.
And I want to remind you: you are not weak for feeling this way. You are human. You are fighting. And you are incredibly brave.
My Own Battle — And What I’ve Learned
I still struggle. Even today, it shows up unexpectedly — a wave of fear, a cloud of sadness, a feeling I can’t shake. Healing is not always a straight line; it’s a constant journey. But over time, I’ve learned a few things that have kept me going:
1. Your feelings are real, but they are not the end of your story.
There were moments I felt like God was far away, but later I realized He was carrying me when I couldn’t carry myself.
2. You don’t have to pretend to be okay.
God works with honesty. When I finally dropped the mask and prayed, “Lord, I’m not okay,” peace slowly began to take root.
3. Baby steps count.
Sometimes victory isn’t a miracle moment — it’s drinking water, taking a walk, opening your Bible, reaching out to a friend, choosing to try again.
Where God Meets You in the Middle of the Storm
One of the most beautiful things about faith is this:
God doesn’t wait for you to be strong before He shows up.
He meets you in the storm, sits with you in the darkness, and whispers hope into the places you’ve tried to hide.
Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
If your spirit feels crushed today, know that God is especially close to you right now — not disappointed, not distant, not angry. Close.
When anxiety tells you, “You’re alone,” God gently answers, “I am with you always.”
When depression says, “You’ll never feel better,” God reminds you, “I make all things new.”
When your strength runs out, God’s strength steps in.
Practical Ways to Keep Moving Forward
Here are a few things that have helped me, and maybe they’ll help you too:
-
Talk to God honestly, even when you have no words — He hears the sighs and the tears.
-
Reach out to someone — healing grows in community, not isolation.
-
Take small steps, not perfect ones.
-
Speak truth over your mind — Scriptures, affirmations, reminders of God’s love.
-
Give yourself grace — you are doing better than you think.
You Are Still Chosen. Still Loved. Still Held.
If today feels heavy, I want you to know this:
You are still God’s beloved child.
You are still called.
You are still seen.
You still have purpose.
Your story is not over — and this chapter is not the last one.
I may not know the exact pain you carry, but I know the One who carries us both. And He is holding you even now.
Keep going.
Keep breathing.
Keep believing that light can still break through — because it will.
